New Directions for Industrial Greenhouse Gas Emissions – Are you Ready?
The industrial sector must adapt to these legislative changes to ensure that industrial process heat operations using fossil fuels meet compliance standards by 26 January 2025.
Key changes:
- All consent applications must now include an emission plan detailing how greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions will be mitigated.
- Fossil fuel-based sites emitting over 500 tCO2e annually must submit a consent application along with an emission plan. Sites emitting more than 2,000 tCO2e also need an independent review of their emission plan.
How can Babbage help?
We offer a range of services to support you in adapting to these changes:
Audits to quantify current site emissions and identify reduction opportunities.
Review and verify existing emission plans.
Develop and prepare new emission plans.
Determine whether your process heat system requires consent under the new regulations and, if so, obtain that consent.
