Ecology (Bioresearches)
Our terrestrial ecologists include experts in threatened flora and fauna, and include technical advisors to the New Zealand Government and local Councils. We hold Wildlife Authorities for national survey, and regional relocations for herpetofauna (lizards), including captive management. We advise on protected or threatened species including plants, invertebrates, frogs, lizards, birds and bats, and design management, offset and compensation packages. Our freshwater ecologists have in-depth experience with wetland delineations, Stream Ecological Valuations (SEVs), freshwater fish, fish passage assessment and macroinvertebrate analysis. They undertake offset and compensation design for large- and small-scale projects. Our coastal and marine projects include all major waterway developments in New Zealand (Pauanui, Whitianga, Marsden Cove) as well as marina and port dredging projects. Our coastal and marine ecologists undertake long-term consent monitoring, water quality and sediment quality assessments, and monitoring of shorebird, seabird, marine mammal and fish communities.
